This an Illustration for J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan. This is the scene when Peter is trapped on a rock, unable to fly away. A scene oddly enough which has not appeared in any film adaptation. Peter gets off of the rock, which is quickly disappearing from the tide by trading the Neverbird an old pirate hat in exchange for her nest. This is a drawing that I did a while back, and I thought it was a shame that it should be locked in a forgotten sketch book. So I scanned it in and painted it with the wonders of photoshop. Comments and the like are always welcome!
Lovely! Is this the Peter Pan inspired from the 2003 movie? I love the charisma of Peter that you captured in the stance. He looks so bold and brash :3 Amazing work
A triumph! It's truly magical. It looks like a photo one second, fantasy the next and the artistry showing through next, making a ...Wow! Did you know there's a new book out that's faithful to Barrie unlike the rest of them? Check it out: [link] Thanks for the very beautiful art. It's reminiscent of the Donkin drawing of the rock scene like [link] BELIEVE!
Thanks! Yeah I can help but be somewhat inspired by the 2003 movie. I'm also very influenced by Rackham, and like to think what he would have done if he illustrated Peter Pan, then one the color side I was influenced by Maxfield Parrish.

But this is amazing. The colours, the textures, the fact that someone else out there actually reads things instead of just watching the film!!! This is gorgeous by the way. It looks like an illustration form a novel.
Probably one of my favourite bits in the book, and I wish it was in the films, only to lead up to it would probably involve the whole scene with Hook biting Pan on then hand and clawing him twice, niether of which are going to appear in family films, alas, for I read the book as a child and it never did me any harm (I think).
